Welcome to the Midland Helicopter Club website. We fly model helicopters at our field near Twycross, which is on the Warwickshire / Staffordshire border

There will be 2 seperate classes;
SCALE
This is for entries of any scale machine which is not accompanied by documentation. The pilot must be the current owner of the machine. There will be a static section where the machine will be judged on build quality, scale additions and the general finish and presentation. This will be followed by a flying section to consist of a few basic manouveres and a free flight. This class is designed to encourage pilots to enter and to experience an early level of scale competition.
SUPER SCALE
This catagory is for scale machines which have been built to replicate a specific full size machine and the pilot will be expected to present supporting documentation. The pilot again must be the current owner of the machine. There will be a static section where the machine will be judged against the provided documentation followed by a flying section to consist of set manouveres and a free flight. Additional points will be awarded for flybarless or multi-blade rotor heads. This class is designed to encourage pilots to enter machines that have typically required a reasonable level of fabrication/modelling skills.
The emphisis is on fun and for the experience of scale competition flight, but prizes will be awarded in both classes.

MHC Scale Open Competition 15th August 2010
Midland Helicopter Club are pleased to announce an Open Scale competition on Sunday 15th August to be held at our club field in Warton, Warwickshire. UK Vario South Scale Day 17th & 18th July 2010
Following the success of the event last year the Midland Helicopter Club are pleased to host the event again which will be run over 2 days on the 17th & 18th July at our club field in Warton, Warwickshire. All usual facilities will be available to include camping (by prior arrangement), catering and toilets and there will be a generous raffle on the Sunday. MHC Open Fly-in 13th June 2010
With an attendance of over 160 visitors last year, we are sure this years Open Fly-in is one not to be missed. All usual facilities will be available to include camping (by prior arrangement), catering and toilets and there will be a generous raffle on the Sunday. Last year saw a prize table worth over £1700!!!!!All pilots must have the customary BMFA insurance if they wish to fly.
